Williams

We needed some accommodation near the Grand Canyon so we stopped in a little town called Williams. We had never heard of it before, so we were quite surprised to arrive & find a cute little historic town on Route 66 with cowboys & saloons.

This is The Grand Canyon Hotel, open since 1891. Unfortunately we only stayed one night.

This is our room. Each room is themed. Our’s is the Giraffe Room. It was filled with giraffes & giraffe references.

and a beautiful gramophone, complete with a classic record collection over 50 years old. Wow.

All the vacant rooms were left open on display. The Nautical Room was one of my favourites.

At the end of the day we went out for an awesome mexican meal at one of the great local bars..

..and sampled some American & Canadian beers
