Airshow!

We had a big airshow on the weekend here at the Nellis Airforce Base…

Nik with the C-5 Galaxy engine.

I had never seen sky-writing done like that before. There were 5 planes flying in a row, acting like a dot-matrix printer. Quite cool to watch. The pretty silver plane just happened to get in the shot too.

Random cute plane..

C-30 with its refueling-tethers stretching behind.

The parachuting demonstration.

Maybe this was the F-16? F-18? ..can’t remember.

Come on kiddies, gather ’round & play with some missiles & bullets! Oh how cute.

Weeee!

Another cool-looking random plane.

The F-22 display was the highlight for me. Incredible plane. The maneuvers were mindblowing. This is the pilot showing where the missiles are kept, by opening the flaps underneath as he flew over.

There’s always someone at an event like this with some crazy-sized lens that puts my little camera to shame. This guy out-did himself. :D

The finale of the day was the Thunderbirds team. This photo was taken half a second too late. The 5th plane passed right through the middle of these 4 with amazing precision. You can see his trail at least..

And we ended with the C-5 again. They opened both the nose & aft doors so we could walk right through it. *nom nom* looks like a snake eating everyone. ;) Yes, I have a habit of personifying inanimate objects.
