This week 24: “Redemption” (the season 7 prequel movie) aired on Fox & we tuned in despite missing the preceding season. Jack Bauer was at it again, diving from explosions, scowling, killing bad guys & before I knew it I was cheering him on with my fingernails embedded in the sofa arm.

I don’t remember why we lost track of the series, maybe a combination of travel & getting distracted with new shows, but we started on season 5 this week to bring ourselves up to speed before the new season starts in a couple of months. What a great season! It really is an awesome show. Last night we must have watched like 8 episodes in a row. It’s totally addictive & hard to stop watching. It’s well-written too, not frustrating like Heroes or Lost, even Battlestar; those shows can be seriously unrewarding to watch at times, some episodes seeming to have no plot development at all. You can be guaranteed to have major action in every episode of 24.

So, if you haven’t tuned in to 24 over the last few years, now is your chance to catch up before the new season starts. Face it, there’s not much else on the box these days.
